Priced Per Pair-

Inspired by the chilling ghost stories told on the hot Japanese summer nights, we designed those weights. The pattern on the earrings is made to resemble the braiding of tatami mats, a type of flooring in traditional (as well as still many modern) homes.

The hair represents the staple of Japanese horrors of the 90s and early 2000s - the yurei, the vengeful ghost, not being able to move on. We chose synthetic hair for the silky feel.

  • Wearable: 3mm /8 gauge
  • Diameter: 60 mm
  • Length of Hair: 295 mm
  • Winner of the Association of Professional Piercers Creative Innovators Award 2023
  • Sold as a pair.

Care instructions:

The synthetic hair should only be washed with baby shampoo, and only if truly necessary. It should only be brushed with a baby hairbrush.

It is recommended to massage a little drop of argan oil into the hair's lowest few centimeters before and/or after wearing to keep it smooth and shiny.

Queen of the Ashes is a jewelry brand founded in 2019. The brand focuses on ear weights and draws inspiration from punk aesthetics, a style that was difficult to find in the jewelry market. Motivated by their significant other, the founder decided to bring this unique style into the piercing industry.

Starting just before the COVID-19 pandemic, the brand faced challenges with growing its customer base due to global slowdowns. However, this period allowed the founder to refine and perfect their designs. Being based in Germany added complications, especially as local studios tend to invest more in gold, making it harder for smaller, niche brands to gain traction.

Despite these challenges, Queen of the Ashes found more success in the U.S. market, with their ear weights being particularly popular. The brand embraces exclusivity by offering limited-run designs, enhancing the collectability of their pieces. While maintaining accessible prices, they keep collections small and often sell out of certain designs, adding to their allure.
